HOUSEHOLDERS have received home safety awareness tips building on good community spirit in their village.
More than 30 Chester & District Housing Trust (CDHT) residents attended the event at the Barbour Institute in Tattenhall, where home and community safety measures were discussed by Liz Biddle, Home Watch Officer for Cheshire West and Chester and PC Support Officer Tracy Shaw, of the Neighbourhood Policing team.
This event, which included refreshments, was held for CDHT residents at The Barbour Institute, Tattenhall with the hope of having further safety awareness events spreading to other rural villages.
Emma Turner, CDHT visiting support officer, said: “This event was about being a good neighbour, getting residents together and enhancing neighbourhood awareness. It was a great opportunity to highlight home safety and show community partnership at work.”
Paula Marshall, CDHT community housing officer, added: “There aren’t any active CDHT resident groups in the rural areas, but the hope is that by bringing residents together we may continue to build on a good community spirit.”
