A TEENAGER who committed burglaries in and around Chester has been put locked up for 30 months.
Phillip Delaney, of Wolverhampton, was sentenced for two attempted burglaries, two burglaries and two counts of being found on enclosed premises for an unlawful purpose. Delaney, 18, had also asked for two further offences to be taken into consideration when he was sentenced. He was caught after members of the public in Tarvin and Chester reported seeing Delaney acting suspiciously on January 13 and 15. Burglaries and attempted burglaries were then reported on January 15 in Hoole Road, Lansdowne Road, Kingsmead, Bartholomew Way and Lache Lane. Using descriptions provided by victims and other witnesses, Cheshire Police were able to circulate information to other forces to help track him down.
Delaney was arrested by officers from West Mercia Police in Newport on January 15. Items stolen from one of the burglaries were found in his van.
Delaney was on bail for a distraction burglary when he committed the offences.
Appearing at Caernarvon Crown Court, he was sent to a young offenders’ institute.
