A FAMILY has paid tribute to “a beautiful young lady”, who died in a road collision near Chester.
Alice Worthington, 17, died when the blue mini she was travelling in left a part of the A54 near Kelsall and went in to woodland. Alice, from Winsford, was travelling along with three other young women when the tragedy occurred on Wednesday March 3.
In tribute, Alice’s family said: “Alice our angel will always be remembered. Alice was a beautiful young lady with a radiant smile and a lovely personality, she brought us lots of happiness. She had great determination although she was emotional and very caring.
“Mark, her brother, recently moved to his own house with his girlfriend Katie and she found that very difficult as they were very close, he always looked after his little sister.
“Friday, the day of Alice’s funeral, was a great celebration of her life. It was very sad and emotional but as one of her best friends Hannah said, ‘it was the perfect send off for the perfect girl’.
“Over 700 people came and that is a tribute to how many knew Alice or again didn't know her personally but just remembered her smile across the room.
“The tributes in Church were beautiful and Sam, Alice’s boyfriend spoke from his heart, telling us of his feelings. How brave was he.
“The music was just perfect, picked by us, Sam and Alice’s special friends, I think she would have liked our choices.
“We don’t know where to start to thank everyone who helped and supported us to get through the day and make it perfect. Our heartfelt thanks to all.
“Alice’s life was cut short, but she had crammed so much into it. We used to feel tired just listening, she always had parties to go to, all the girls getting ready here and us providing taxis, but we just always wanted them to be protected and safe.
“Our lives will never be the same again, but we know that she touched the hearts of so many and spread her happiness around. She will never be forgotten and she will live in our hearts forever. God bless you our little princess and keep smiling.”
Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision to contact Rachel Gallagher on 01244 613163.
