A CITY centre police station has re-opened to the public.
The Cheshire Police helpdesk at Chester Town Hall has been re-opened to the public, after temporarily moving to Chester and District Housing Trust (CDHT) Offices in Northgate Street in October while Cheshire West and Chester Council, who own the building, installed a lift.

The Chester Inner Neighbourhood Policing Team has moved back into their offices and will open the desk to the public Monday to Friday from 9am until 4.45pm.
Outside those hours, Blacon Police Station will be open from 8am until 7.45pm Monday to Saturday and from 9am until 5.45pm on Sundays.

Anyone needing to speak to police on a non-urgent matter can call 0845 458 0000 24 hours a day or dial 999 in an emergency.
Insp Ian Thorp said: “We aimed to make the temporary move as sooth as possible for residents in Chester. The number of police officers and PCSOs on the streets in the city centre was not affected and all office based staff worked out of Blacon Police Station.

“We would like to thank CDHT for providing a home for the helpdesk during the move and for helping us to make that transition simple.

“We will now be based back in the town hall where we can work closely with Cheshire West and Chester Council CCTV operators and other staff to keep the city a safe and pleasant place to visit.

“The new helpdesk will be more easily accessible now the lift has been installed.”
