A BEAUTY therapist has won a makeover with TV fashion guru Gok Wan.
Louise Medenica from Connah’s Quay was chosen for some star treatment with Gok Wan after entering a competition in fashion and celebrity gossip magazine Reveal last November.
It was not until February she received a call from the magazine, in which Gok has a weekly fashion feature, asking her to travel to London for a photo-shoot with Gok.
The photos from the shoot will be featured in this week’s edition of the magazine.
“I wasn’t expecting to hear back from them so I was quite shocked when I did,” said 24-year-old Louise.
“They just said they liked the look of my photos and thought I had the figure they were looking for.”
Louise had posted pictures to the magazine taken at a pamper day photo-shoot she was given as a present from partner Andy Faulkner last year.
Two weeks after the phone call from Reveal, the former Connah’s Quay High School student travelled to London for the magazine’s photo-shoot with Gok.
“I had a fantastic day,” said Louise, who runs a beauty therapist business called Beautify from the Deb N Hair salon in Connah’s Quay.
“Gok was great.”
Reveal paid for Louise’s train ticket from Flint to London and after having her hair and make up done it was time to choose her clothes.
“I tried on a few outfits and they decided which were best,” said Louise. “There were a couple of things I didn’t like so I told them.
“Gok helped as well deciding what I should wear, there was a jacket I had on he didn’t like so I took it of.
“It was a really nice experience. It was great to meet Gok. He was nice and really down to earth.”
Louise, who fits in mentoring for Barnardo’s alongside her beauty work, admits she is nervous as well as excited about seeing the magazine article.
