JAMES Henderson has backed the newlook Guilsfield to kick-start their Huws Gray Alliance campaign at home to Conwy United on Saturday.

The Guils skipper insisted there was no panic despite a stuttering start to the season, which has yielded just one point from their opening four games.

“We have not had the best of starts but then a majority of our games have been away to top sides,” said Henderson who joined the club in 2009.

“I am sure the team will push on in coming weeks and there is certainly no reason for panic just yet.”

Henderson admitted the villagers’ first aim must be to improve their poor home record, having dropped a plethora of points at Stadiwm Cegidfa last term.

“Our home form last season was simply not good enough and that is something we must put right.

“On our day we can beat anyone in this league as we showed by winning the league cup last season, but we have been a bit of a Jekyll and Hyde team.”

Henderson added: “The manager has made some good signings and each one of the new lads has improved the squad.”

Guilsfield manager, Russell Cadwallader also insisted his side can break their duck at home to Conwy.

“We know if we keep working hard that we will get that first win but we must be more ruthless in front of goal,” he said.

Midfielder Ian Probert is injured but striker Danny Barton returns to join Will Thomas in attack.

Caersws will bid to exorcise the demons from last weekend’s eight goal mauling by Rhyl, when they travel to Flint Town United.

However midfield veteran Geraint Lewis is suspended, with manager Mickey Evans hoping to add defenders Jack Hughes and Jacob Smith to his squad.

“The amount of goals we have conceded lately is difficult to explain,” said Evans. “We expect another tough game at Flint.”

Llanrhaeadr hit the road following last weekend’s heroics with a relatively short trip to Ruthin Town.

Jamie Evans will look to inspire the villagers to a first ever second tier victory after scoring two goals in last weekend’s 3-3 draw.

Manager Mario Iaquinta said: “It was a perfect day for the club, the entire community came out and made it a weekend to remember.

“Ruthin will be tough. Anything we pick up on the road this season is a bonus.”
Defender Emyr Roberts is unavailable, with Adam Burgess stepping back into contention in his place.
