TNS travel to old rivals Llanelli on Saturday for an early season title clash to be screened live on S4C (3.45pm.)
The New Saints make the trip in good heart after breaking their Welsh Premier duck in a 2-1 win over Prestatyn Town last weekend, having picked up just one point from their previous two games - an opening night draw with Bala Town and an injury time defeat at Port Talbot.
Manager Mike Davies insisted victory over the Seasiders can only stand his side in good stead ahead of the big televised clash at Stebonheath Park, against a Llanelli side which has also suffered a stuttering start.
“Prestatyn are a good team and although we could have killed the game off we have to give them credit for coming back into it,” said the Saints manager Mike Davies.
“Three points was what it was all about so we couldn’t be happier and we will play better now we have this win under our belts.”
The Saints will go into the game with striker Matty Williams among the form players in the league with three goals from his opening three appearances but without strike partner Chris Sharp, who has been sold to Blue Square Premier side AFC Telford for a club record fee.
Summer signings Nicky Ward and Greg Draper are both vying for a starting berth.
