Police hunt Bangor jewellery shop burglar

POLICE are appealing for information after items of jewellery were stolen from a shop on Bangor High Street.

Thieves smashed the window of the So Chic shop between 4am and 7am on Saturday and stole items of Pandora jewellery from a display.

Detective Sergeant Brian Kearney said: “We are appealing for anyone who is offered such items for sale in the Gwynedd North Area to get in touch with Bangor CID or to contact Crimestoppers.”

Carys Davies, who has owned the shop for the past five years, said: “I am a local business on the high street trying to make a living, then some yob comes along smashes the window and steals a large part of the display.”

“It’s hard enough these days without anything like this. It is a substantial loss which will have a knock on effect.”
