ON a gloriously sunny Sunday morning, Llewod Llannefydd U-10s were in top form at home to the Dyserth Devils.

Nico Clwyd opening the things in fine fashion for Llan with two early goals.

Mathew Jones added a third for the roaring Llewod before the break. Dyserth were pushing hard and they netted two in the first half to make it a close 3-2 at half-time.

Llan resumed their form in the second half with a goal from Elis Clwyd Davies, while the impressive Nico Clwyd completed his hat-trick in a 5-2 result.

Man of the match was Mathew Jones, with Elias Owen having a good game in goal and defenders Rhys Wynne and Morgan Williams also worked hard.

Goals from Gethin Rogers, Matthew Howarth and a brace from man of the match James Thomas gave rampant Denbigh Rhinos U-8s a resounding 4-0 victory at Rhyl Hearts.

The Rhinos dominated from the off with Bradley Roberts, Zach Thomas and James Thomas all going close.

It was James Thomas who gave the visitors the lead, sliding a loose ball in at the far post following fine work from Roberts and Rogers. Thomas was celebrating again moments later when he fired in an awesome drive from long distance.

Denbigh continued to create chances, but they had to wait until the after the restart for number three with a deserved Rogers goal.

Thomas nearly volleyed in a hat-trick from long-range with a strike flying a few inches over the bar before Matthew Howarth wrapped up the points, catching a long-range volley just right for a spectacular fourth.

A five-goal blast from Luke Humphreys proved to be the highlight of a mixed Ruthin Town Youth FC weekend.

Leading the way for the club were Ruthin U-15s, who swept aside the league challenge of hosts FC Johnstown 11-3.

Patrick Hinchcliffe (2), Connor Lloyd, Elis Ivans, Jac Davies and Tomos Evans scored the rest.

Ryan Jones bagged a hat-trick to help Ruthin Town U-16s gain a 4-1 scoreline in their home league meeting with Llangollen. Tom Dyer bagged the other goal.

There were two reasons for Ruthin to celebrate in the U-14s section of the league.

Two goals from Shaun Williams and one from Dani Campbell gave Ruthin Blues a 3-2 margin of victory over Venture.

Michael Reid struck twice as Ruthin Town U-14s won 2-1 at Penycae.

There was double disappointment in the League Cup.

Ruthin Town U-12s lost 1-0 in their second round trip to Brickfield, while Ruthin Blues U-12s suffered a 6-0 first round reverse at the hands of Park Youth.
