Juniors praised for eventful year

LLANDUDNO Cricket Club held its 2011 junior presentation at the Oval last Sunday.

There was a good turnout of juniors and parents for the event chaired by Club chairman John Rimmington with parents providing raffle prizes and items to contribute towards an excellent buffet.

Mr Rimmington welcomed all those present and thanked all the coaches and parents for their efforts and aid this was the 12th year in a row of such presentations.

Under 15 coach Jack Rimmington reported on a season of what could have been but said that performances had been good through the year.

Under 13 coach Mark Hughes reported on a season of runners up in the league and cup and felt that the players were close to fulfilling what could have been an historic double.He also thanked club parent Dave Evans for his help through the year.

Finally under 11 coach Joe Lambe reported on a successful season which saw them win the under 11 league and bringing on in ability some 5, 6 and 7 year old players new to the game.

The Under 15 awards were announced as Players’ Player Ryan Pike, Coaches’ Player Regan Perry.

Under 13's awards presented by Mark Hughes both went to Danny Evans.
Under 11 awards presented by Howie Thomas were presented to Players’ player Matthew Jones and Coaches Player Will Sissons.

All the Welsh players selected from the club were introduced-Under 12 Jack Sissons, Under 13 Dan Evans, under 15 Sean Kitchen and Wales under 15 girls Hannah Thornton.

Junior player of the year was Hannah Thornton.

James Mcilvogue donated a playing shirt in the raffle worn by Paul Collingwood when playing for Durham County Cricket Club.

Llandudno Cricket club are holding their senior presentation night at the Imperial Hotel this Saturday and the club general meeting on November 25 at 7.30pm at the club.
