MORE people have been paying tribute to teenager Haydn Mark Evans after his body was found in a lake at a hotel.
The 18-year-old was found dead at Carden Park Hotel, near Chester, a fortnight after the search for him was first launched.
Yesterday condolences were still being posted on a Facebook site set up in his memory, entitled ‘Prayers for Haydn and his family’.
‘Sandie Cameron’ said: “You had a loving family and are so young to leave this world but will always be remembered. Love and prayers to the family.”
‘Natalie Williams’ wrote: “Thinking of you all at this sad time, he touched so many people who were following his story to bring him home safe.
“Sleep tight sweetheart, you’re with the angels now.”
‘Tilly Mint’ said: “Rest now Haydn. Terrible time for you and your family, look after them, they need you to watch over them.”
A nationwide search was launched for Haydn when he went missing.
It finally emerged over the weekend he had drowned in the 1,000-acre grounds of the De Vere leisure complex.
Haydn was last seen at the entrance of the hotel in Broxton at about 1am on Saturday, December 17.
He had been at a party with his colleagues from MPH Construction of Mold, who included his father Graham.
When it was time to a board a minibus at the end of the night Haydn was nowhere to be seen.
He did not appear at work the following Monday and was not seen alive again.
Cheshire Police appealed for householders across the Carden and Broxton areas to check outbuildings, sheds and garages and for anyone who might have seen him around the hotel’s grounds or on the nearby A41 or A534 to come forward.
A Facebook page was started, with stepsister Jade Conway making regular appeals to help find the missing teenager.
A message posted on the site yesterday by Carolyn Coulton said: “I would like to thank each and everyone of you for all your help, kindness and support.
“It has been a great comfort during this horrific time, I just wish so hard that it hadn’t turned out so absolutely devastating.”
Haydn lived in Maes Y March, Mold, with his father, 17-year-old brother Ben and stepmother Kim.
He also leaves his mother Lynsey Bell, from Coedpoeth, sister Nicola, brothers Richard and Terry and stepbrother Jamie.
Mold councillor Haydn Bateman, who knew the teenager’s father, said yesterday: “It’s very upsetting for the family.
“It’s a shock for all the people living in Mold. I believe he was a hard working, conscientious lad. It’s a terrible shame that someone so young has died.”
On Friday afternoon police said the body of a teenager had been found by underwater divers in the lake of the Carden Park Hotel and on New Year’s Eve police confirmed the body was Haydn’s.
Cheshire Police spokesman Jane Gregory said: “Haydn’s death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.
“The thoughts and condolences of all officers and staff who work for Cheshire Constabulary are with Haydn’s family and friends at this very sad time.
“The Constabulary would like to thank the local community and all those who have helped in the search for Haydn and would ask on behalf of the family, that they are allowed time to grieve for Haydn in private.”
