FIRE chiefs are still investigating the cause of a blaze at a Chester block of flats which led to a man leaping from a second-storey window.
The incident, which took place at about 2.30pm on Thursday, saw scores of residents flee their flats in Kinnaird House, City Road, while fire crews tackled the flames.
Police cordoned off the road for about two hours while emergency services, including ambulances and several fire crews, arrived at the site.
The man, aged 30, broke his leg after jumping from his bedroom window to escape his apartment, which had become heavily smoke-logged. He was rushed by North West Ambulance Service to the Countess of Chester Hospital where he was treated for his leg injury. There were no other injuries.
A spokesman for Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said all residents had been allowed to return to their flats.
