EXPERIENCED performers from years gone by will turn out to raise funds for Bala Rugby Club stalwart Bryan “Yogi” Davies this weekend.

A team of Bala vets will play host to a Ruthin veterans XV at Maes Gwyniad this Sunday, February 5 (12pm).

This game between the golden oldies will be to raise funds for the Bryan (Yogi) Davies Appeal Fund.

Entry to the match is £3 for adults and £1 for children and OAPs.

After the game everyone will be welcome to go to the Plas Coch in Bala to watch the Ireland v Wales game in the Six Nations Championship and following the televised game, there will be an auction of three rugby shirts.

There is a signed shirt that has been donated by the Cardiff Blues regional side, while former Ruthin player Eifion Roberts has kindly sent a signed shirt from his current club Toulon, who compete in France’s Top 14 competition.

In addition, there is also a Barbarians shirt up for grabs.

For anybody unable to attend the auction and who has an interest in bidding for either shirt, sealed bids will be accepted by posting them to Tony Parry, 55 Bro Eryl, Bala LL23 7AR.

All of the money raised will go to the appeal fund.
