IT was a week of pleasure and pain as far as Brian Lewis was concerned.

The good news for Rhewl golfer Lewis came as he fired a stunning nett round of 59 to romp to victory in week 16 of Denbigh Golf Club’s winter league season.

However, after his triumph, Lewis saw his handicap slashed from 12 all the way down to four.

He was one of 11 members who had their handicaps attended to during the course of the week.

The medal contest attracted a field of 121 entries and it was a difficult week weather-wise, as the course was very hard due to overnight frosts.
