Hopes of saving Paramount Foods on Deeside Industrial Estate were crushed when a potential buyer pulled out. 

TWO hundred Flintshire jobs will be lost with the closure of a pizza factory.

Hopes of saving Paramount Foods on Deeside Industrial Estate were crushed when a potential buyer pulled out.

David Whitehouse, partner at administrators Duff & Phelps, said: "The joint administrators have announced to stakeholders and employess of the company a phased wind down of operations.
 
"Advanced discussions regarding a sale of the business as a going concern had been held with an interested party, who, for reasons outside of their control has had to withdraw their offer.
 
"We would like to take the opportunity to thank the employees for their continued support throughout the administration process and we will offer support where required to staff involved as the business winds down."
 
The company is one of the largest manufacturers of frozen and chilled pizzas in the UK.
 
It currently employs 278 emplyees across the two sites, 202 in Deeside and 76 in Salford, Greater Manchester.
