The scene of the hit and run

A SEARCH has been launched for a hit and run driver who left a man seriously injured.

The crash on the B5122 yesterday morning between Caerwys and Pen-y-Cefn involved a white vehicle which failed to stop.

A man in his 30s was taken to Glan Clwyd Hospital with serious injuries, but they were described as not life threatening by police, who have launched an appeal.

The rural road, which links the McDonald’s roundabout off the A55 to Caerwys, was closed throughout the morning as police investigated the crash.

Police spokesman Michael McGivern said: “Police are appealing for information after a man sustained serious injuries following a road traffic collision.

“At 9.30am North Wales Police received a call that a pedestrian was in collision with a white vehicle which failed to stop.

“The victim sustained serious, but non-life threatening injuries.”

Forensics teams were at the scene following the crash, with the road blocked off.

House to house enquiries were conducted at properties in the area.

A spokesman for the Welsh Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 9.27am to a report of a road traffic collision.

“We sent a rapid response vehicle with a paramedic and an emergency ambulance and  took a man in his 30s to Glan Clwyd Hospital.”

Anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting reference N196534.

Normal people wouldn't drive off and leave an animal in the road, but to do it to a human being is as low as they could get. I hope this guy gets his day in court soon

what makes you think it was a guy.a woman is just as capable of leaving the scene of an accident as much as a bloke.

Wind your neck in, I am referring to the GUY who was knocked down. Victims use the expression 'to have their day in court'. Sorry you struggle with English, but if you don't understand the language properly, don't comment!
