Porcupines at Chester Zoo have been sponsored by a group of city acupuncturists.

CHESTER Zoo have made a prickly proposition to a team of acupuncturists.

As part of their 30th anniversary celebrations, The Chester Clinic for Complementary Medicine, on Heath Road, Upton accepted an offer from the Zoo to sponsor a group of porcupines.

The clinic’s acupuncturist team, Charles Buck, Marianne Buck and Ying Liu, decided that sponsoring the spiky animals would be the perfect partnership.

Chester Clinic director Mr Buck said: “The Zoo invited us to sponsor an animal some time ago but we wanted it to be relevant in some way.

“Porcupines are a bit of a Cinderella animal so we thought we could make them more glamorous by association with our acupuncturists.”

To mark this anniversary the clinic are offering free advisory consultations and a range of discounts for new patients calling the clinic in November.
