SMALL voluntary organisations, schools and community groups can find out for free how to make successful grant applications at an event on Monday February 8.

Organised by Cheshire West and Chester Council, funding advisors from the BBC’s Children in Need charity, the Big Lottery Fund Awards For All Grants and Heritage Lottery Fund Young Roots Grants will provide presentations.

The event takes place at 6.30pm at Ellesmere Port Civic Hall.

Herbert Manley, prosperity executive member, said: “This is the first event of its kind hosted by Cheshire West and Chester Council.

“Everyone taking part will be given advice on common mistakes in bid writing and what makes a successful grant application.

“I hope that everyone attending will be very successful in their future grant applications.”

Local Central and Westminster, Cllr Derek Bateman, said: “I would urge everyone applying for small grants to come along to the meeting.

“Everyone attending will be able to pick up tips so that their application contains the correct information so that it can be carefully considered.”

Places are limited so please book early via email at fundingtrainingevents@ cheshirewest andchester.gov.uk or ring 01244 977974.
