A CHESTER business leader has been shortlisted for the Leading Wales Awards 2010.

Michael Learmond, regional organiser for the Federation of Small Businesses in North Wales and Chester, will be competing against a number of top performers from Wales for the award in the category of business leadership in the community.

The Leading Wales Awards recognise great leadership at all levels across the public, private and voluntary sectors in Wales and celebrate individuals whose leadership skills have made a strong impact and resulted in positive change within their organisations.

Mr Learmond has been nominated alongside three other business people from North Wales, who have been recognised by the judges for their efforts in supporting businesses and communities during the economic downturn.

The winners will be announced in Cardiff on February 25.
