Sara Bowler and her mother, Sarah Barr, from Ruthin, talk to Naomi Hancocks from Gok’s Fashion Fix

RESEARCHERS from Gok Wan’s television fashion show have been scouring Wrexham for women who want to be on television.

They were looking for women who would like to appear on the Channel 4 programme Gok’s Fashion Fix where they would get the ultimate makeover.

Representatives from the show spoke to shoppers on the town’s High Street, and at the Eagles Meadow shopping centre to see if they fancied a fashion transformation.

Mum and daughter Sarah Barr, 44, and Sara Bowler, 21, said they would look forward to meeting the top fashion consultant if he decides Wrexham is in need of a fashion overhaul.

Sarah said: “I wouldn’t mind a bit of pampering to be honest, I’d be well up for that.

“If he wants to give me a makeover I will definitely give it a go. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain.

“I’m sure it would be great fun.”

Daughter Sara was not quite so enthusiastic about taking part but admitted she would enjoy seeing her mum undergo a major fashion change.

She said: “I’m happy the way I am but I think mum would be an ideal candidate.

She’s full of confidence and a bit mad to be honest.

“It would definitely suit her and it would be a real challenge for Gok.”

Naomi Hancocks, who works at the production company that makes Gok’s Fashion Fix for Channel 4, said: “We have had a great response.

"The people we have met in Eagles Meadow have been fantastic, very friendly and warm.

“I am certain Gok will want to come to Wrexham to record a show.

“We would certainly have no trouble finding women who want a fashion makeover and who would enjoy the experience.

“Gok will be holding open auditions around the country very soon, including in Wrexham, and he wants to hear all about your fashion disasters.”

They'll be spoilt for choice. They could start by getting rid of all the ridiculous rip-off Ugg boots. Started by an Aussie as a joke on the fashion industry. They make everyone look like scousers.
