X FACTOR finalist Lloyd Daniels will be playing an exclusive concert at Newtown Football Club.

The Welsh 16-year-old, who just missed out on reaching the semi-final of the ITV1 singing competition last year, will be performing on Friday, May 7.

The organisers are promising a top evening of entertainment and are encouraging people to get their tickets now before they are all snapped up.

Mentored by Cheryl Cole, Lloyd, from South Wales, was voted out of the show on the public vote alone after performing Take That’s “A Million Love Songs” and the Elton John classic “I’m Still Standing”.

Event organiser Barry Gardner said: “The evening will see Lloyd perform along with two local supporting acts. It will also be great for the young people of Mid Wales to see their idol in person.”

The club had offered a limited number of VIP tickets, which includes access to the club’s new media room and the opportunity of meeting Lloyd, having your picture with the young star and his autograph but these have already been snapped up by fans.

However standard tickets, priced at £20, still remain.

“Because of the size of the venue, both sets of tickets are limited so we would encourage fans to buy early to avoid disappointment,” added Barry.

Tickets can be purchased from the football clubhouse every evening from 7pm or on-line at www.newtownafc/events.html or by calling 07981 810585.

Look out for a competition in next week’s County Times to win two VIP tickets for the show.

Surely you don't need to pay for a VIP ticket to have your photo taken and autograph of the "young star" - any celeb worth their status should give fans that for free!!
