A GANG of four masked raiders launched a terrifying early hours raid on a pub near Chester and escaped with a large amount of money.
The four men burst through the living quarters of The Rake, Little Stanney, near Backford, and forcefully restrained members of staff and demanded access to the safe.
Detectives in Chester have now launched an appeal for information following the robbery that took place just before 2am at the popular venue on Monday.
The drama unfolded when the gang broke into the countryside pub, while the occupiers slept upstairs.
They forced their way into the pub, which borders Ellesmere Port and Chester, after breaking in through a first floor window.
