AIRBUS UK BROUGHTON shared the spoils from a  1-1 home draw against an Everton XI in front of a crowd of 350.

Airbus boss, Craig Harrison, used almost a full squad throughout the match with the only absentees being goalkeeper Kristian Rogers, midfielder Danny Desormeaux and new signing Andy Moran, who are all expected back into the squad for Saturday’s trip to Porthmadog (2.30pm kick-off).

Notable Airbus performances during the first half included Ashley Williams and Matty Woodward, while in the second half Jake Cassidy and trialist Richie Dorman caught the eye, with Cassidy netting his debut Airbus goal with a 20-yard shot into the top corner.

Ex-Swansea City trainee Callum Hawthorne put pen to paper after the Everton game and Harrison has also agreed a deal with former Buckley playmaker Colin Quirk for the new season.

Meanwhile, Cefn Druids ran rampant as they scored 11 times without reply against Waterloo Rovers in their latest pre-season friendly at Plaskynaston.

Marc Griffiths led the way with four goals, while Adam Hesp grabbed two after coming on from the bench. Ashley Wilson, Mike Taylor, Joe Price and two trialists got the other goals.

Druids will entertain Penycae tonight in a pre-season friendly (6.45pm kick-off).

Gap Connah's Quay Nomads romped to a 10-1 home victory over Llangollen Town.
Chris Herbert netted a first half hat-trick to send Nomads on their way, with further strikes from the re-signed Danny Forde and midfielder Rob Jones ensuring a 5-0 lead at the break.

Jones' effort was the pick of the bunch, flicking the ball over a visiting defender before lashing a stunning 25-yard volley in off the inside of the post.

Five goals in the second half followed, with Mike Hayes and new arrival Dean Thurston netting two apiece – Thurston scoring one from the penalty spot – and young midfielder Danny Pinch also finding the target.

Mark McGregor handed an appearance to trialist Ben Collins at left back who was on the books of Caernarfon Town last term.

Llangollen, demoted from the Cymru Alliance last season due to the pyramid re-shuffle, pulled a goal back with a remarkable effort direct from kick off – looping over the head of youth team goalkeeper Ryan Thomas who enjoyed a 20-minute run-out.

Next up for Nomads is another home outing, when Cheshire League side Pilkington FC visit the Deeside Stadium tonight (7.30pm).

Buckley Town drew 2-2 with Pilkingtons, and Buckley are now preparing to entertain Denbigh tonight at Globe Way.

Australian trialist Pasquale Polistina scored Rhyl’s goal in their 1-0 friendly win at home to Altrincham.

Rhyl travel to Witton Albion for another pre-season fixture tonight (7.30pm).

Bala Town, who have signed former Chester City defender Shaun Kelly, secured a 3-0 victory at Llansantffraid. Bala are scheduled to face Winsford United away tonight (7.45pm).
