CORWEN 1
DENBIGH TOWN 0

DENBIGHSHIRE honours went to Corwen as they narrowly defeated Denbigh Town, reports Peter Glynn at the War Memorial Ground.

The home side deserved a 15th minute lead courtesy of James Davies when the tricky wide man volleyed home sweetly from the edge of the box.

The visitors’ best effort came  when Darren Cassidy beat a man and ran 10 yards but saw his dipping effort graze the crossbar.

The second stanza saw little in the way of clear-cut opportunities, but Jon Slater hit the post after enterprising play between Mike Hind and Anthony Marshall.

Looking good for Corwen was Dion Jones, whilst for Denbigh the pick of the performances came from the hardworking Darren Cassidy.
