A GROUP of nurses from a Chester based hospice have pledged their support alongside walkers gearing up for an annual fundraising event.
The Starlight Walk in support of the Hospice of the Good Shepherd, Backford will take place from midnight on Saturday, September 4, in Chester.
There will also be a further walk in Ellesmere Port on September 25.
More than 300 volunteers have signed up for the Chester walk, with organisers urging as many people as possible to take part
The third annual six-mile walk on September 4, will begin at Chester Racecourse and volunteers will receive a luminous Starlight T-shirt, a special medal, goody bag and refreshments.
The route will take walkers through Handbridge, over the suspension bridge and along the River Dee, past some of the Rhinos in the city centre and along the walls.
Last year, over 700 ladies took part in the ‘Starlight Walk’ and raised almost £40,000.
As the demand for the services provided by the Hospice of the Good Shepherd continues to grow each year, they are hoping that with your help, this year’s midnight walk will be bigger and more successful than ever
There is a £10 registration fee and you can sign up online at www.starlightwalk.eventbrite.com or join us on Facebook at HOGS Chester.
