SIMON Davies hit the ground running with a brace as Machynlleth opened their first division campaign with a resounding 4-0 win at Trawsgoed.

Martin Roberts and Michael Price also netted as the Maglonians maintained their promising start to the season.

Elsewhere Aberdyfi beat Llanilar 3-1 with two goals from Jack Smith and a Ben Holt strike cancelling a Dafydd Thomas reply.

Ian Evans bagged a brace as Bow Street Reserves 3-0 beat Padarn United with Steve Harrison also on target while Ryan Davies was the two goal hero as Penrhyncoch Reserves beat Dolgellau Reserves 4-1.

Marc Jarman and Chris Wilkins completed the scoring with Tristan Evans reducing the arrears.

Meanwhile Corris United opened their second division campaign on a high with two goals from Iolo Tomlinson in a 4-1 win over Penrhyncoch Thirds with Iestyn Williams and Dewi Evans also on target.
