HUNDREDS of Chester fans looked to the skies as the famous Red Arrows took part in an historic flypast of the Deva Stadium.
The event went ahead on Saturday before the Blues’ home friendly against Marine despite concerns the flypast would be called off due to safety fears with the iconic jets.
The Arrows soared past the ground at 2.18pm on Saturday.
“We were delighted that the Arrows took part in the flypast despite initial fears it would not happen,” said Jeff Banks, media officer for Chester FC.
Initially, the RAF’s display team had been grounded to allow safety inspections be made to the Hawk aircraft, following issues with ejector seats, but the inspections revealed no problems with the Red Arrows, and they were cleared to fly in a
South-Easterly direction over the ground.
